Setting up and training with Accounting Software Packages

Whilst the packages vary from brand to brand the core modules remain consistent: Accounts receivable, Accounts payable, General Ledger, Billing, Stock/Inventory, Purchase Order, Sales Order, Bookkeeping and Financial Close Management. SCCS specialise in Xero but also work with Sage and excel, for small businesses.

Processing Purchase and Sales Ledger invoices

The Purchase Ledger will detail which purchases have been paid for and which remain outstanding. The purchase ledger proves a useful tool in providing an insight into the various amounts that are spent with a certain supplier and a breakdown of what the various spends consist of.

 

The Sales Ledger will detail the sales that have been made and can include credit issued depending on the accounting method adopted (cash-based accounting or accrual accounting).

 

Processing the purchase and sales ledger payments will assist with cash flow and budgeting. 

Credit Control

SCCS is happy to act up as your credit control department. The process of ensuring that once sales have been made the payment terms are met.

Reconciliation and month-end reports

At the end of each month, ensuring everything is reconciled means that your books balance and that there are no errors. It is a perfect time for management accounts to be produced to help you run your business effectively.

Preparation of VAT Returns

SCCS can prepare your paperwork ready to be reviewed by your accountants. VAT Returns are submitted quarterly in order to identify VAT owed to HMRC through the detailing of total sales and purchases within the given period, the amount of VAT owed and the amount of VAT to be reclaimed. The rules and regulations surrounding VAT returns can be extremely complicated and must meet certain deadlines.
